Living in the LA area, around 40% of your life is stuck in traffic. No matter where you are going, even just a 3 mile drive usually takes 20 minutes. How do you get over this? Listen to good tunes, of course! Here are the radio stations the LAQPs have set on their dials:
98.7 LA/Orange County:
Your typical modern alternative rock station. The first year Britt lived in LA, this was the only station she listened too. Super versatile and plays everything from Mumford & Sons to Adele to Florence & the Machine.
100.3 The Sound:
By far a favorite station. They play amazing classic rock that ranges from Meatloaf to The Moody Blues. And on Thursdays they have the epic “Triple Play Thursdays” where you can hear three songs in a row from the same artists. Three from Fleetwood Mac and Elton John back-to-back means it’s going to be a good day.
KDAY 93.5:
Your place for ‘Back in the day’ OLD SKOOL HIP HOP.
102.7 KIIS-FM:
We all hate to admit it, but this is set on every one of our dials. Ryan Seacrest in the morning and all the recent pop songs you just can’t seem to get out of your head. No matter how much you “hate” them….
Power 106:
Big Boy in the morning!
KCRW 89.9:
The only way of getting the news! (This American Life FTW)
KOST 103.5:
THEE Soft Rock radio station of LA. And “the station” that plays 24 hours of Christmas music from November 26th – January 1st. Don’t forget Delilah! Yep, that’s where you can find her for those late night sappy dedications.
And Margo Murphy says: “I hate the radio… Pandora’s where it’s at!” Amen sista. Amen.
