Well, my summer in South Central is coming to an end, and so is working in downtown. Yesterday was our last day filming which also meant my last day of free lunch (BOO!). But all is well that ends well and luckily our last lunch spot was a new and yummy experience.

Unfortunately, we haven’t gotten lunch from many new/good places this week
Boo! BUT I did get to have my first Corner Bakery Cafe experience the other day, and I loved it! It is more of a “chain” restaurant (A LOT like Panera Bread) and I have been itching to try it for some time now. I would go back in a heartbeat! I suggest checking out the website and finding a Corner Bakery Cafe near you!

Have any downtown lunch recommendations?! PLEASE, tell me!
By the way, I’m trying to get to Lemonade. I hear parking is AWWWWWWFUL, though. Maybe in the next few weeks I will take a big girl pill and just deal with it, because I hear it is superb!

I have to admit, until I started my current job, I had never really spent much time in Downtown LA. To tell you the truth, downtown was always intimidating to me. Parking can suck and sometimes the neighborhoods can be quite sketch. But now that I’m working at a studio Downtown, I’m starting to finally get the way of the land. And I really enjoy it! There is hardly any traffic (UNLESS there is an event at Staples Center) and the architecture is really beautiful. I am still sticking to my guns by saying the parking SUCKS, but then again, it sucks everywhere in LA.
Anyways, the reason for this post: When you work in the office of a production and they start filming, you get FREE lunch! So, I wanted to start a series of lunch restaurants that we go to, since us LAQP hardly ever write about downtown. Since I’m starting this series kind of late, today I have FOUR restaurants for you!
NOTE: I will only be writing about restaurants that I found really yummy. If I don’t post one day, that means lunch wasn’t that great. But I will never talk bad about a restaurant (that’s not how I roll), I just won’t suggest you go!

My fave lunch spot so far! So fresh, so yummy, and ALL LOCALLY GROWN AND BOUGHT! I got the Caprese sandwich with seasonal roasted vegetables. Literally… Mouth orgasim… Just sayin’…
Gram & Papa’s
227 East 9th Street
Los Angeles 90015
(213) 624-7272
Parking is beyond treturous here, but definitely worth the headache! No matter what you pick from the menu, I highly suggest getting some of the homemade potato chips. YUUUUUUUUM.
Cole’s French Dip
118 East 6th Street
Los Angeles, CA 90014
(213) 622-4090
5 Words: BEST. FRENCH. DIP. IN. TOWN.
Eastside Market Italian Deli
1013 Alpine Street
Los Angeles, CA 90012-1293
(213) 250-2464
These are some BEYOND massive sandwiches. I’m totally going to be 10 lbs heavier at the end of this shoot…
Stay tuned for more lunch suggestions for Downtown LA next week!
